A wind of change for the new year: BPC begins 2013 with a very notable new arrival: Douglas Greed comes from Jena, in central Germany, where he has developed a very solid local fan base through numerous live appearances and highly successful releases. Since 2006 he has brought out several EPs and an album on the renowned Jena-based label Freude am Tanzen.
For BPC he has got together with his live singer Fabian Kuss to produce a driving deep house number that is so laid back and fluffy, you could be forgiven for mistaking Jena for a suburb of Chicago. This Time is a track where every sound sits just right. Atmospheric and driving elements are perfectly balanced and in complete harmony with the soulful vocals of Fabian Kuss, a student of jazz singing techniques.
While the dub version dispenses with the main vocal lines, it is even richer in atmosphere: broad pads and catchy melodic phrases with unusual sounds invite the listener to sit back and enjoy a showing at their own inner cinema.
Back on the dance floor, the RAW mix reveals Douglas's penchant for tech-house. Here This Time is skilfully reduced to the beat which, in combination with the hypnotic vocal samples, releases the full driving force of the track. A must for all house aficionados.
